Compact Living Show

Employed by Workshop of Wonders

Compact living is back again! Cramped apartments in the urban jungle, tiny houses in the great outdoors. The interiors from the 50s and 60s were also very compact. And that makes the furniture from that period ideal for compact living.

For the Wonders design gallery I designed a show with the furniture of the Artek, Vitra and Weltevree brands. In the 100m2 gallery, four period rooms have been created with their own themes: “Nature”, “Romance”, “Ego” and “Social”.

The icons from the 50s and 60s are combined with contemporary products, including Klaas Kuiken’s styrofoam stove and circular 3D printed creations by Dirk van der Kooij. Spring has arrived with the products of Weltevree.

The show showed a clear vision of the trend to live smaller and more conscious, surrounded by sustainable furniture, circular materials, and especially the conscious choice for quality that lasts.
